403 Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid
Instructional time – 13 hours

Target Audience

Anyone over 16 years old and Workers required to have first aid training under the Canadian Labour Code.

Learning Outcome

Participants will be able to safely perform lifesaving techniques, ease pain and prevent further injuries.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to safely perform the following tasks:

  • Perform the priority action approach.
  • Do a primary survey.
  • Learn how to deal with choking.
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Soft tissue injuries.
  • Head and spinal injuries.
  • Heat and cold emergencies.
  • Convulsions.
  • Burns.
  • Poisoning.
  • Treatment of severe bleeding.
  • Secondary survey.

Delivery Method

This course is divided into two parts:

  • Theory
  • Practical & Hands on

Participants will demonstrate their knowledge and skills in various first aid exercises. Participants will receive a certificate of competency upon completion.
