401 Occupational First Aid Level I


Instructional time – 6.5 hours

Target Audience

Workers required to have Occupational First Aid Training under the WCB requirement

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to safely perform lifesaving first aid, ease pain and prevent further injuries.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to safely perform the following tasks:

  • Perform the priority action approach.
  • Do a primary survey.
  • Learn how to deal with choking.
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Treatment of severe bleeding.
  • Secondary survey.
  • Follow prescribed WCB documentation guidelines.

Delivery Method

This course is divided into two parts:

  • Theory, video
  • Practical & Hands on

Participants will perform first aid procedures to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. Each participant will receive a certificate of competency upon completion.
