207 Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) 1 & R Instructional time “Level 1” 203-1 – 3.5 hours

Target Audience

Workers that, due to their work activities, will need to be qualified to package, transport, or receive Dangerous Goods.

Learning Outcome

Participants will be able to interpret and apply the Transportation of Dangerous Goods requirements as per the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the different classes of Dangerous Goods.
  • Explain the classification process.
  • Determine specific requirements for the standards for dangerous goods packages, and containers.
  • Determine appropriate safety marks which consist of the labels, placards or signs that are required to be displayed on a package, container, or vehicle transporting dangerous goods.
  • Explain the shipping documentation requirements.
  • Determine special precautions requirements.
  • Evaluate situations where reporting of specific occurrences (accidents, spills, etc.) which involve
  • Explain the four (4) general areas of response capability: (ERAP activation, response tasks, resources, and preparedness).

  • Determine and identify the proper use of safety equipment.
  • Determine the circumstances under which the safety equipment should be used.

Delivery Method

The TDG workshop is divided into two parts:

  • Theory
  • Practical & Hand on

Participants will complete specific exercises to demonstrate knowledge and skills. Each participant will have a final written quiz and will receive a certificate of competency upon completion.

TDG 207-R – 1.5 hours
The review program is designed for workers who have already taken 207-1 previously. This session will expand on existing knowledge and will provide an overview of the components of the 207-1 program.
