106 Supervisor Due Diligence Instructional time – 6.5 hours

Target Audience

This course is ideal for supervisors (new or experienced) and valuable to any worker that may provide guidance to other co-workers.

Learning Objective

The aim of this program is to help participants to:

  • Exercise due diligence.
  • Carry out their responsibility for creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Meet regulatory requirements.

Learning Outcome

The outcome of this class will enable participants to:

  • Explain the meaning of due diligence and the concept of due diligence as a defence.
  • Identify key factors in the practice of due diligence and the potential legal consequences of failing to exercise
  • Understanding the roles and functions of the WCB officers and cooperate with them to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements and workplace health and safety.

  • Conduct risk assessments as required and plan risk control objectives and measures.
  • Develop and present an effective crew talk.
  • Conduct proper safety inspections or accident investigations to ensure that hazards are identified and that safe practices are implemented in the workplace.

Delivery Method

The Supervisor Due Diligence class is divided into three parts:

  • Theory
  • Table top exercise &
  • Practical supervision workshop & case study

Participants will participate doing a crew talk specific to their workplace to demonstrate knowledge, skills and ability.
