105 Violence in the Workplace
Instructional time – 6.5 hours

Target Audience

This course is ideal for Joint Health and Safety committee members, worker health and safety representatives and corporate safety coordinators. This class may also be of interest to workers keen on gaining an understanding of violence in the workplace factors associated with their work and how to prevent them from happening.

Learning Objective

The aim of this program is to help participants to:

  • Provide participant with tools to reduce and eliminate workplace violence.

Learning Outcome

The outcome of this class will enable participants to:

  • Explain regulatory requirements relevant to preventing workplace violence.
  • Conduct a violence risk assessment.
  • Establish violence prevention measure and procedures.
  • Develop a workplace violence program.

Delivery Method

The violence in the workplace class is divided into three parts:

  • Theory
  • Table top exercise &
  • Practical workplace violence intervention

Participants will participate in inspecting their workplace to demonstrate knowledge, skills and identify risk factors.
