102 Accident Investigation Instructional time – 3.5 hours

Target Audience

This course is ideal for supervisors or anyone interested and committed to reducing workplace injuries and diseases.

Learning Objective

The aim of this program is to help participants to:

  • Properly investigate near misses and accidents in the workplace.
  • Provide for concise and solution-oriented accident, incident and near miss reports and,
  • Reduce injuries and potential financial liabilities by identifying the root cause of an accident and provide appropriate solutions.

Learning Outcome

  • Enable participants to use the OH&S regulation to find requirements in the WC Act and the OHS regulation.
  • Enable the participant to produce a report on findings.
  • Enable participant to interview workers and others involved in a respectfully manner and with a set objective.
  • Enable participant to know their limitations and responsibilities.

Delivery Method

The accident investgation class is divided into three parts:

  • Theory
  • Table top exercise &
  • Practical investigation
    Participants will demonstrate their ability to conduct an accident investigation within their workplace setting.
